'LOVE'

We painted hearts on music sheets! We shared memories & laughter as we created. I met another artist, her name is June. She painted for 2 hours, non-stop! I truly enjoyed sitting down by her and watching her expressions as she created. I wasn't able to get much out of her, she was in the Artist zone! ha-ha! She'd pop her head up every once in awhile and smile (real big) and laugh! Janice played the piano for us for 20 minutes! We all enjoyed listening to her play!

A women who I grew to love had passed away about 2 weeks after I was there in December. Please keep her family and friends in your prayers. Heaven received another angel!

We had another magical Art workshop at Gracewood memory care facility. Mavryck (my son) was "santa" handing teddy bears to everyone. Their faces lit-up with such joy as they hugged their new friend.
We painted Christmas trees, sang along to Christmas music & danced to a few songs.

Watching their faces light up with joy, listening to laughter, stories and witnessing love spread throughout the room is WHY Art and Memory is so near and dear to my heart. Thank you to the Volunteers who gave back on Tuesday. "We rise by lifting others." -Ingersoll

Our day was filled with Art and Crafts! We painted Christmas trees and made Santa's out of paper plates, cotton balls, glitter glue and gold/green/red pipe cleaners. Mavryck handed out Christmas gifts to the residents. They received stuffed animals and chocolate covered Santas. He was our little elf...he-he!

We are so blessed to have your support and love through out the year! Your donations truly help make a difference in the lives of others. We're always looking for volunteers to spread love and to create with others!

Happy Tuesday!

We had another CREATIVE day filled with smiles and love! We painted snowman and shared stories with each other at Gracewood memory care facility.
Also, we had the pleasure of listening to beautiful music played by Grant and Annabelle. Grant played the guitar and his daughter, Annabelle, played the cello. It was an magical day filled with painting and music!

Happy Tuesday!

Love is in the air!

Art & Memory ART Workshop February 2016

We decorated Valentine Day hearts for loved ones and free painted . We talked about our family members/ loved ones, who their Valentine is and why ... oh! and we ate candy! YUM!

There were two couples that participated in the workshop. Here's their secret to a happy marriage...

21 years of marriage:
"...We were determined to make it work."
64 years of marriage:
"...Always put the other persons needs before yours. Think about what will make them happy and do it."

Our day was filled with love! Happy Valentine's Day. Thanks again for the support.

Spring is here!!! ...So we painted flowers, discussed our favorite smells of Spring and a resident, who has alzheimer's played the piano (by memory-Wow!) while we sang.

A sad note...
A couple of residents had passed since my last visit. I know you didn't personally, but please keep their family and friends in your prayers.

We painted hot air balloons while chatting about memories and enjoying each others company. Laughter and Love was present as we created. Their faces lit-up with such joy as they created their masterpiece.

Today we painted with leaves! Yes! LEAVES! They were excited to choose their leaves to paint and admired the different colors and shapes. We had two little helpers who shined with so much love and light! The room was filled with laughter and joy as we created. Paint, love and laughter is food for the soul.

Art and Memory Celebrates ONE year of giving LOVE to others! -THANK YOU for the support!

We created turkeys from the shape of our hands, painted and decorated our creations with feathers, shared memories, discussed our favorite Thanksgiving food, and family traditions. There were two women who decided to paint a whimsical tree and add feathers! Their creations reminded me of a Dr. Seuss book, full of life and joy!

Thank you to the volunteers who donated their time and love! WE appreciate YOU!

We've been giving back love, kindness and time for ONE year! This makes my HEART smile!
